Description: This dataset contains rail highway crossing locations in Florida from the Rail Highway Crossing Inventory (RHCI) database. A rail-highway grade crossing is an intersection where a roadway crosses railroad tracks at the same level or grade. Such crossings may be encountered on both public and private roads. The Rail Highway Crossing Inventory (RHCI) database was developed and is maintained by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in cooperation with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and railroad companies operating in Florida. The RHCI database is the central repository for all Florida rail-highway crossing system data. The Railroad Crossing feature class of the State of Florida is at a scale of 1:24,000 with a projection system of Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) 17 North and a horizontal datum of North American 1983 (NAD 1983). The map units are in meters.
